Comfort Beauty and The New Normal
With a world flipped upside down, it seems like we are connecting to a lot of things on an emotional level. I know I am! And just like you may gravitate towards comfort foods, another constant for me has been skincare products that have provided moments of calming self-care.
When working from home is the new norm, our skincare and beauty products don’t necessarily need to make us look our best, but instead, they should do their part to make our feel our best. These favorite products have all ‘been there’ to calm my spirits and provide me with moments of much-needed ‘me time.’
Forever a fan of La Roche-Posay, and their Toleriane Purifying Foaming Facial Wash is calming and non-irritating on my skin while giving me ample foam that won’t dry out your skin.
Karmameju is a Danish brand based on natural ingredients, and I hope it someday becomes available stateside because it is AMAZING! The Age Defense Face Mist 03 is perfect for adding an extra layer of hyaluronic acid moisture on your skin.
I use the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask a couple of times a week, and the results are visible in the morning: hydrated and healthy-looking skin.
Since I don’t wear a lot of fragrance, Byredo’s Bal D’Afrique Body Lotion gives me a little bit of scent while moisturizing my skin. I also use it as a beard conditioner, which gives me a chance to catch a whiff of this incredible fragrance throughout the day.
And speaking of smelling amazing: the Byredo Suede Hand Cream has a fragrance profile that I wish Byredo would translate into an actual bottled cologne - it is that delicious. Plus, the cream is the perfect remedy against overly sanitized hands.
I use the Intelligent Nutrients Destress Express Hair & Body Treatment Oil on my chest and on spots that need a little extra care. The essential oil blend can even be used on sore muscles or as an instant de-stresser throughout the day The fragrance profile is wonderfully calming, and leaves you feeling calm and refrreshed.
